Yoga

Originating in India, yoga is a comprehensive wellness science based on an understanding of the human being as an integrated body-mind system, which can function optimally only where there is a state of dynamic balance. Yoga focuses on health and wellness at all levels of the person: physical, psychological, and spiritual. It comprises a wide range of mind/body practices, from postural and breathing exercises to deep relaxation and meditation.

 

Group classes

I approach yoga as a moving meditation and healing practice. In my group yoga classes, I emphasize awareness of the breath, present-moment mindfulness, and working with the limitations of the body, so that students are guided into a space of well-being, awareness, and relaxation. Besides offering weekly public group classes at yoga studios, I design customized group classes for corporations, groups, and organizations based on the needs of the group.

I teach the following styles of yoga: Gentle, Restorative, Yin, Vinyasa, Hatha,

 

Individual Sessions and Yoga Wellness Program (recommended: 2-4 sessions/month)

I offer individual yoga wellness programs that are informed by my training in yoga therapy. I create individualized home yoga programs focusing on the path of Yoga as a wellness journey and adapt the practice of Yoga to the needs of people with specific health concerns that are not usually addressed in a group class. A personalized yoga program can help individuals to reduce stress, encourage self-healing, manage pain, restore balance, gain strength, and increase vitality. It helps to promote all-around positive health at the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. 

 

A private yoga wellness program starts with a thorough assessment of the client’s health situation and wellness goals. I will then use yoga, breathing, and meditation techniques, as well as lifestyle coaching, to develop a personalized home wellness program for the client. Regular weekly or bi-weekly sessions are recommended for assessing progress and modifying the program as needed.
